Painting Courses
“An Introduction to Oil Painting or Watercolour Painting for beginners and improvers”
Professional artist Stewart Kent offers you the opportunity to learn an approach between figurative and abstract Land and Seascape painting both on exciting Cornish locations as well as in the studio. His short year round courses are limited to four students enabling maximum personal attention to each student, their ability, experience and potential. His central Penzance studio is complemented by a fine collection of unique art books and DVDs.

There is a 4 day (3 nights) or 6 day (5 nights) course at a cost of £435 or £665 respectively.
- - Each course includes comfortable single room en suite accommodation, full English breakfast, a light lunch, unlimited tea or coffee during the day.
- - With so many fine restaurants and pubs within short walking distance of the Guesthouse, evening meals are at one’s own expense. Dinner can be arranged at a supplement.
- - We can arrange a free pick up and drop off service at Penzance train or coach stations, subject to availability.
- - A list of what to bring with you will be sent to you at the time of booking.
Subject to time and students' experience, we aim to cover the essentials of:
- Choice of materials – Pigments – Supports – Brushes & Mediums
- Drawing – Composition & Perspective
- Choice of Subjects – Working from Sketches & Photographs
- Choice of Colors – Color Mixing & Laying out the Palette
- Light Source – Skies – Light – Shade – Tone
- Recession – Trees – Water – Reflections

Courses are year round and are not restricted to any particular days of the week.
Studio periods are: 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m and 1.30 to 4 p.m. each day.
There is no single room supplement to pay or a minimum participant requirement.
A deposit of £100 is required at the time of booking and this can be made by PayPal or Cheque.
