The Hotel itself is a building about 270 years old, being built in the traditional manner of solid Cornish granite. In the past, the house has served many purposes, both as a private residence and also, it is believed, as a public house, a brewery, and a bakery at different stages of its history. For the last 40 years or so, the house has provided hospitality and comfort to visitors from all over the world as a Guest House and Hotel. Your host is Rob Button who took over the Carnson House Hotel in October 2003. Before coming to the Hotel, he lived in Cornwall for many years. From this experience he fully understand the needs of the traveller to this beautiful part of Cornwall. He found the chance to live and work here an opportunity too big to miss. In the short time he has been at the Hotel he has welcomed guests from all over the world and takes pleasure from the guests' enjoyment of their visit and assures all those who stay at Carnson House of a warm and personal welcome.
To gain access to Carnson House, you enter a gate and follow the path around a flower bed. There is a gap of 55cm between the garden benches and flower bed. There are two small steps to the front door. A twin en-suite, dining room and guest lounge are situated on the ground floor. There are 13 steps up to the first floor where a twin room and two private bathrooms are situated. Two steps take you to a family en-suite and a double en-suite. Further down the corridor is situated a toilet, single room and s further family en-suite. The Bed & Breakfast tariff ranges from £26.00 to £29.00 per person per day, depending on season and room type. Payment may be made by cash, cheque (supported by bankers card), Travellers Cheque (in Sterling) or Eurocheque, or by Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Diners Club or JCB). |
