I visited my long-time friend in Penzance last Sept. & Oct. and loved every minutes of it. Penzance is a lovely old town & we must have walked miles. I hope to go back again before too long. We visted so many little places all around Penzance & everywhere was so scenic and lovely to see. I search my family history and many on my mother's side came from all around there. I thought we saw a lot but after browsing, I have seen many things we missed. So I shall have to go back soon. Just loved it!

I chair a group known as the Friends of Stonehaven Open Air Pool which (to the best of our considerable knowledge!) is the last art deco olympic-sized heated (84 degrees) salt water open air swimming pool in the UK. Until six years ago, it was delapidated and threatened with closure by the local Council. Nowadays, a formal Partnership of the Friends and the Council run this pool, with the Friends undertaking all the redecoration work voluntarily between January and June in advance of its season from first Saturday in June to last Sunday in August and raising funds for improvements (thermal covers were this year's item) whilst the Council attend to lifeguard staffing and major-item replacement. I hear that Penzance's own Jubilee Pool is in a sad state - has a group such as ours, tried to resurrect it? Pay us a visit on www.stonehavenopenairpool.co.uk.

I visited Penzance for three days about a month ago. I started to deal a pair of shoes and socks at General Clothing Stores, they are super.
It was really a good time with recreation, scenery and nice people.
Greetings to my b&b hostess Hazel.
I hope I will see Cornwall once again.

Could someone please put me in the picture? It's a few years since I've been home but I've been told that the disused Penlee Quarry at Newlyn was to be used for holiday accommodation. Is this what has happened? Please email me in Australia at ianwalsh69@hotmail.com

Hello there, everybody. Since I visit Cornwall for the first time back in 1981, I just love that part of England. I`ve been to Penzance
9 times since than and i love it more and more each time.Feels like coming home... Last year,1999, I did go bicycleriding all around Cornwall, spent 14 days on that trip, and believe me: it was my best holiday ever. I will do the same this holiday as well.I can recomend it to everyone else... So when the dark and cold Norwegian winterstorms howling around the housewalls, I pick up my photos and holiday diary and `goin back` to last years holiday.
I would like to use this opportunity to ask some questions:Can someone give me an address(e-mail) to where I can hire a bicycle
for a period of 20 days from July 16th.?

I would like to get in touch with someone from PZ, and my e-mail is as follow: rune@idefag.no/ Looking forward to hear from you.
See you this summer.

Best regards

Mr. Rune Tollefsen

After moving to Canada in 1989, I still miss Penzance - the lovely place I called home for many years - terribly! If there's anyone who went to St. Mary's (on Tredinnick) in the mid 80's, or the Humphry Davy Lower Site (near the Princess May Recreation Grounds) in the late 80's, let me know! The net may be big, but I haven't found a single person online that I went to school with in Penzance! Great site, by the way!

Living in Leicester for the past 5 years. Missing the old place. Folks still in PZ, so I still get to visit regularly- not the same though. I miss living by the sea.
If any old mates are 'cybernetting' and see this message, please reply, I'd love to hear from you.

Just got a phone call from Billy Mitchell who suggested I check out this site for some contacts related to early 60's school days at Heamoor Secondary. Glad to see Troony and Billy already on stage. Hi there!
"Pooch" Woolcock is apparently still in the area and sailing. Mac Strick "Are you out there?" Jeffrey Maddern recently took over The Tarbert in Clarence Street. Mike Summerlee is in Christchuch, New Zealand and still surfing I believe.
By the way Troony how's your Beach Boys collection coming on. And lets not get sexist about this:- where are Margaret Searle, Gina Lambourne, Elizabeth Zeaman(?), Sandra Thomas, to name a few who spring to mind immediately. My panoramic photos; do you remember those?; are still with my parents in Penzance, so I can't make a more complete list - more's the pity
Proper job!

Keep in touch if you recognise the name. I might have left the best place on this planet, but NZ is a nice place too, and the water is warmer!
