Does anyone know which are the market days in Penzance and where they are held?

Does anyone know who owns and what is destined for two derelict areas in Penzance? 1) The buidings adjacent to the Drydock, overlooking the inner harbour; 2) the area bounded by New Town Lane, Wharf Road and Jennings Street. What restrictions are in place for the development of these sites? Can it be commercial, residential or both?

In the last week of August 03 we are going to visit Penzance. I have heard that around 1769 a lady, probably called Ann Marie Thornton, lived in Penzance. Her mother made fishing nets and her father was a well-respected fisherman. She was to marry the young man of her dreams but her financé had to go to sea and never returned. From the day he left she was always seen on the beach, waiting for her fiancé to come back. Apparently she was well-known for that reason. She probably died around 72 or 73 years old and is buried in the grounds of an old church with a big bell. Is there anybody out there who could tell me more about this story?
Thank you very much!

Has anyone any information on "Minack" the cottage featured in the Minack Chronicles written by Derek Tangye. Minack is situated in the St.Buryan - Lamorna area and we would like to find it when we are in Cornwall later this year. Is Derek still there and the Minack Chronicles Nature Reserve? Hope someone can help.

Three years ago I lost my way in Penzance. I remember the wonderful harbour which I saw three times when trying to find the right way. Tomorrow my daughter will start her journey to P. Give her a warm welcome, please.

I have been coming to Penzance for the past 13 years, my husband for over 50 years,we have 2 caravans on a friends farm at Gulval and love the place, if it wasn't for the job situation, I think we would have moved down there ages ago.The people are lovely, they take you as you are, you don't need to put on any airs or graces, sadly missed the Golowan festival this year, but can't wait till next summer.Who needs to go abroad when you have such beautiful scenery here.

HI, I LAST STAYED IN PENZANCE SIXTEEN YEARS AGO AT A GEST HOUSE OWNED BY A LADY CALLED JINTY. I KNOW IT IS A LONG SHOT BUT CAN ANYBODY HELP IN TRACING THE GUEST HOUSE. JINTY WAS INTERESTED IN LACE MAKING AND HER GUEST HOUSE WAS ABOUT TEN MINUTES FROM THE PROMENADE UP A HILL. IF I REMEMBER RIGHT THERE WAS A PUB ACROSS THE ROAD AND A YOUTH HOSTEL A LITTLE FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD. I WOULD LOVE TO RETURN THIS AUGUST AND IF ANYBODY COULD HELP IN MY SEARCH I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL
