As a Penzance girl I would like to point out a few was to make you're Cornish visit even better by having a little thought for the people who live and work in the town.
In the summer the parking in Penzance goes up a fair bit making it very hard for the people who have to drive in to work pay to for parking 5 days a week.
The free spaces get taken very
quickly, and parking outside you're own home can be inposible sometimes
......Come down by train, buy a map and go on some wonderful walks....We have some of the most beautiful views that you can only get to by walking....You will have loads of peace because most people only like to go places where they can drive to.
Also, Most people who work in the many shops in the town center only get an 25 minutes for lunch because the shops are always very busy. So this means it can be very hard to buy lunch as you spend much of you'er time cueing!
Please if you see a poor shop worker waiting to get his/her lunch please remember that he or she will work much better with a full tummy or without killer indigestion from stuffing a pasty down his gut at the same time as
running back
to work. I'm sure you would be much happier with someone who's tummy is not growling.
So if you do see a poor over-worked person standing in a cue, why not let him/her go first because it would make life much easyer for that person!
I do know that most people who come to see beautifu Penzance just want a nice holiday and are lovely people but a few can be really very rude and push in at places and say thing like " We're next, we're on holiday" and that kind of thing does really get our backs up.
So how about we make the summer months happier for both tourist and local?!?

I am trying to locate the whereabouts of Margarth Hutchings, who lived at 16 Chycornick Terrace in Gulval. She used to work in J.H. Bennets shipping department in the period 1968-1972. Does anyone have information? I will be glad to hear from you.
