We regret that the Guestbook has had to be closed for the past few weeks due to gross abuse by SPAMMERS. We are now re-opening the Guestbook in the hope that those individuals will respect the interests of genuine visitors to this site and will cease and desist from their anti-social behaviour.

Meanwhile, we would like to thank all "genuine" visitors and encourage them to continue recording their interests and experiences about Penzance in the Guestbook.

This is a request for help. My soon 2 b husband served in the Falklands War in 1982. On his return like so many others he was awarded the Falklands medal with rosette as he was on Hermes, He alsoserved on HMS penzance which frequently visited your lovely town and he has fond memories of it. Unfortunately on one visit someone on board his ship stole his Falklands medal and he reckons sold it for "beer tokens" If someone could be helpful enough and perhaps enquire as to where the original is I would be happy to exchange it for the copy which is exactly the same apart from in tiny letters at the top says "copy" and a small reward. I live on the west coast of Scotland and as we are getting married next year I would be greatful if anyone would be willing to help. He left the Navy in 2004 after 23 years unblemished service and a proud career, however the fact that this medal was stolen still gets him annoyed. If you are a publican or historian or a collector the medal has the following details on it AB J SHEARER. The ship was HMS Hermes and I believe a few of your pubs may have connections with the ship, I know it is a long shot but I would be most greatfull if someone could help. If you would like any further information please email me on gmccallan@yahoo.com

Many Thanks in anticipation this would really mean alot to both of us.

While looking through an old family album I came across an old postcard of the square, st just, penzance and wondered if anyone is tracing their family history and would like to buy this postcard. All funds going to charity.

Regards
Sue
