Organised by Mike Waters - Chairman of Penzance Chamber of Commerce - a motorcycle run on behalf of the in aid of the Cornwall Air Ambulance is in its final planning stages. The following are key events that the organisers would be grateful if you could support by attending:
-
Sunday 9th April
-
An auction will be held at 11.30am in the Café on St Erth Industrial Estate, items include a case of wine, a 18 pint keg of Sharps beer, a 36 pint keg of Sharps beer, two beer bags each containing 6 limited edition bottles from St Austell Brewery, tickets for free admission to the Blue Reef Aquarium, boxes of chocolates and many, many more items.
-
Sunday 30th April
-
30 motorcycles and two support mini-buses leave Lands End at 10am. There will be a motorcycle rally involving hundreds of bikes and numerous trade stands at Lands End that day, people are needed to rattle buckets to collect money as well as coordinating the trade stands as I will be on my bike!
-
Thursday 4th May
-
We arrive back at Lands End at about 5pm, TV presenter Dick Strawbridge will be waving the chequered flag to mark the end of the trip and a Masterchef will be roasting a whole deer and a whole sheep which will be served up to the riders, support staff and helpers. (We are unable to sell this to anyone else as it will conflict with the café at Lands End) The whole event will be covered by the media and I am expecting it to be broadcast on ITV and/or BBC. In addition the Air Ambulance will be there, subject to operational requirements.
-
Saturday 13th May
-
A function will be held in the Queens Hotel commencing at 8pm at which the final cheque will be presented to the Air Ambulance. I have arranged for a live band to play music and there will also be a disco……the bar will be open! Admission is free but there will be a raffle.
The organisation of the motorcycle run and associated events, such as those above, EBay auction, meetings, website, letter writing and so forth has mainly been down to the Chairman and has had the effect of greatly enhancing the profile of the Chamber of Commerce. The organisers would be most grateful if you could make every effort to attend as many of the above events as possible. It is anticipated that over £10,000 will have been raised by the 13th May, full details can be seen at www.lejogle.com.
Thanks
